Tetracycline (an antibiotic) use when she was very young caused dark bands to appear in her teeth.
A round of bleaching was done to try and lighten the color of the teeth. However, gray-brown stains are typically very resistant to whitening.
The teeth were then prepared for veneers.
Only 0.3-0.5 mm of enamel needs to be shaved off in order to make room for the ceramic.
Delicate and esthetic porcelain veneers were fabricated to layer over the teeth.
The veneers were adhesively bonded over the prepared teeth, allowing us to rejuvenate the patient’s smile. Needless to say, she was very pleased with the outcome!
