Teeth can be moved at any age. Beautiful, healthy smiles are not just for children. We believe everyone deserves to have confidence in their smile, whatever their age. Today, 20-25% of orthodontic patients are adults. Our office offers both traditional orthodontic treatment (braces) and Invisalign treatment (clear, removable aligners).
Invisalign
Invisalign straightens your teeth without wires and brackets, using clear, customized, removable aligners. These clear aligners are comfortable and are virtually invisible, meaning hardly anyone will even notice that you are wearing them.
What is it?
Invisalign uses a series of trays that you change every few weeks, that gradually move your teeth until the final prescribed alignment is met. They’re removable, so you can eat and drink whatever you like throughout your treatment. Keeping your teeth clean is also easy with Invisalign, as you take the aligner trays out to clean them. You just brush and floss like you normally do, and put them right back in They are also comfortable, and since there are no metal wires or brackets, there is no mouth abrasion during treatment. Another bonus: Because there are no brackets and wires – you’ll spend less time in our office getting adjustments.
How Does it Work?
Invisalign combines the advanced 3-D computer graphics technology with the 100-year old science of orthodontics. These aligners are designed to move your teeth gradually, in small steps until they’ve reached the final, correct position. You wear each set of aligner trays for about 2 weeks, and remove them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you go from one aligner to another, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week. The total treatment time is different for everyone and largely depends on just how much correction is needed. It could take as few as 18 or as many as 48 trays, depending on various factors.
Clear or Regular Braces
Braces have long been an effective way to straighten your teeth and improve your smile. Today’s braces are less noticeable and more streamlined than ever before, thanks to a number of technological breakthroughs. Total treatment time varies, and largely depends on the complexity of the case, but on average, it is usually between 12-24 months.
